3.1.2010 Celebrating our oldies  - Poppins and Hero 10 years old today, Diva 9 years old 12th November 2009. 
Congratulations dear dogs, may you still have many years to come. 
Diva, who have produced such superb dogs for us, amongst them  C.I.Bs Carnoustie´s Viva La Diva and Prima Fantazija,
Hero who has produced CC and rCC-winning children,  and  who came back to us in poor condition, and still managed
to make it  almost to the top - he would have needed  only one more CACIB to close his C.I.B-title.
And Poppins, my dear Poppins, my dearest friend who follows me everywhere, can read every thought I think, and
know what I am about to do before I even know myself -  may you be healthy and happy for many more years!!

Closing the year 2009 ..

 
Once again a year has gone by - time flies when you are having fun.

I am convinced that I will forget some good results in this resume, as dogs bred by us have had such many successes 
in many countries – so if you read this, and your dog is not listed, just remind me !
(I had to leave out BM/BB-placings, otherwise this text would go on for ever, so I have only listed CC-winners).

New champions:

RU CH Carnoustie´s Symbol of Glory became new RKF and BLR CH, and took during this also BOB, BIG-2 in Belarus.
Carnoustie´s Solange became RU J CH, RU J CLUB CH in just five (international) shows in Russia.
RU J CH Carnoustie´s Attired By Frost became RU CH by taking 3 x CC, 1 xBOS, 1xBOB, BIG-1, BIS-3.
Carnoustie´s Object of Desire at Corydon visited Finland for two periods during 2009 and became FI CH, taking in 17 shows 
3 x CC, 3 x CACIB, 3 x resCACIB, 7 x BOS, 5 x BM-placement, approved temperament test.
He finished his stay in Finland as #3 Top Rough Collie Male in Finland, and #1 Top Sable Collie!

His litter sister Carnoustie´s La Dolce Vita completed her FI CH title in 8 shows during one month, and took 3 x CC, 1 x res-CC. 
She already earlier had approved temp test.
Rejejs Joie De Vivre completed her FI CH title by taking 3 x BOB, BIG-1, BIS-1 and approved temp test.
Carnoustie´s Will Beam Me Up visited Russia for a couple of weeks, and took 3 x CC,  3 x BOB, 2 x BIG-1 and became RU CH.

 CC/CACIB-winners:

In Latvia, Carnoustie´s Flower Power took her first CC, CACIB, BOS being also LVW-09.
In Denmark, Carnoustie´s Xtremely Xclusive started his career well by taking CC, BOS at the Voldum Christmas show for a breed specialist judge, 
only beaten by the WW-09 bitch.
In Estonia, Carnoustie´s Beam of Light took his first junCC and junBOB, being also BOS at the international show in Tartu.
In Kokkola Carnoustie´s Baltic Frost took the the resCC on Saturday, and the following day  in Pietarsaari the CC. 
She also got approved temp test with high points.
FI RU EE CH Carnoustie´s Silver Flower took CACIB, BOS at Oulu international, and BB-2, rCACIB in Pori.
The fabulous young  Carnoustie´s Double-O-Seven took BM-3, CC at Pori international show at his first show ever in junior class, 
and the following day CC, BOS at main speciality show.
Carnoustie´s Solitaire gave us a storm-warning in Jyväskylä and Turku international shows by being BB-3,resCC, and BB-2, CC and 
completed her year with the finest achievement of them all, CC, BOB, FIN JV-09, V-09 at the Finnish Winner Show in Helsinki !!
The following day Carnoustie´s Moon Goddess made our weekend even more perfect, by being CC, CACIB, BOB, NORDV-09 !!

Also many of our breedings were placed in BM-/BB-classes and got resCCs, we believe that these promising dogs will have further success next year.

Our breeders class was BOB-breeder 8 times (including both Finnish Winner- and Nordic Winner Show!),
and in Kauhajoki we made it all the way to BIS-1.
Our breeder class was also presented in Denmark at the Christmas show, with 2, POH and wonderful critique
from the breed specialist judge, who wanted to take the dogs with her back to England.

Temperament tests:

FI CH Carnoustie´s Object of Desire at Corydon approved +125, gunshot unexperienced
Carnoustie´s Beloved Velvet, approved +123, gunshot secure
Carnoustie´s Love Supreme, approved +157, gunshot secure
Carnoustie´s Baltic Frost, approved +174, gunshot secure.

Breeding from Carnoustie:

In Denmark, both male Carnoustie´s Silver Power and female  Flower Play have produced big litters of
quality puppies with extremely good merle colours.
In Russia, CH Carnoustie´s Attired By Frost have produced two very big litters with quality puppies of
extremely good merle colours.
In Norway, CC-winner Carnoustie´s Blue Goddess produced a beuatiful litter to the WW-08 male, 
and also here excellent merle colours and already wins in puppy classes.
In Denmark, Carnoustie´s FLy Me To the Moon have left excellent health results to her children, 
six out of seven pups x-rayed, all with A-hips. She is believed to have the highest Blup-index that any collie has in Denmark.

Stud dogs:

blue merle male Xtremely Blue Carnoustie From Fantazija got one litter including one puppy during 2009 at Pajukola. 
The youngsters from his big litter at Päivi Kaski´s kennel have been x-rayed, eight of nine are examined, and all with A-hips and 0-elbows. 
It seems he will be a strong inheriter of good bodies, good health, good blue colours and better heads than he has himself.

Also his young children  have been very succesful on the show point of view: LV J CH Ironica, BALT EE LV LT J CH Impressive Blue Fantazija, 
multiple junCC winner  It´s My Turn Fantazija, LT J CH multiple CC winner Ice´N Fire Fantazija etc.

Sable male RU CH Carnoustie´s Will Do Impact sired a litter at Usvapilven kennel, and the puppies look extremely promising, 
this was an interesting combination of our lines together with dogs with american bloodlines.

During 2009 FI CH Carnoustie´s Object of Desire at Corydon sired litters in Drivergold, Rantapaikan, Soonist and Caprice Catherine in Russia, 
and the young puppies look extremely promising. His oldest daughter in England, Corydon Copperita returned to the show ring after her maternal 
duties and was BOB, BIG-3, Crufts qualified at open show level, and took also one rCC.  

 Breeding at Carnoustie:

This year we only got one litter, from multiple CC-CACIB winner Xtremely Blue Carnoustie From Fantazija and Pahlex Attired by Addict, 
consisting of three males, amongst them DK export CC, BOS-winner Carnoustie´s Xtremely Exclusive. 
Also his tri brother has done well at his first shows in Finland.

Viva La Diva, Prima Fantazija and Moon Goddess were mated, with no success. As Prima Fantazija had  been mated several times,
with poor results, we let her go to our friends as a pet. Moon Goddess will probably be mated 2010 on Sandcastle´s prefix. 
Viva La Diva will possibly be mated 2010, time will tell.

 Health results:

8 Carnoustie´s examined in Finland, all HD-free and ED-free.
2 Carnoustie´s examined in Sweden, both HD-free and ED-free.
1 Carnoustie examined in Denmark, HD-free.

The year also have brought some sorrow – we had to say goodbye to our lovely young blue bitch Skorpan. May her death give us, 
and perhaps also someone else, the reminder that usually there is no use in trying to save a puppy that is born very weak – 
they are not meant to live. She will be sadly lost, but always stays in our memories as the loving, clever, beautiful little blue rascal 
who gave us so much happiness and joy during these two years. Rest in Peace Skorpsi-lorpsi!

My own health has not this year either been the best one, my neck problems continued and after (finally!) more thorough examinations 
we discovered that I have one disc prolapse also in my neck, and one protruding disc plus some other minor damages. 
So thank you my dear horse that caused the riding accident 20 years ago, if you weren´t dead already, 
I would be very pleased to slice you into pieces myself ;).

I would like to say thank you to all friends, co-competitors, owners to ”our” dogs, for making this a remarkable year that we will never forget –
the icing of the cake was ofcourse the tremendous success we had a the winner shows in Helsinki, I think that we were the only breeder that 
had so many breedings placed in BM/BB-placings (2 x BOB with 2 x CC, 1 x CACIB, 2 x BOB-breeder, BM-2 rCACIB, BM-3 rCACIB, BB-4 rCC).

The biggest thanks goes to my mother, who takes care of our dogs while we are away at shows – and thank you  OUR DOGS – 
we love you all, and you are all companion and friends, and some of you are also succesful show- and stud dogs - 
but the most important thing is the joy and pleasure you give us every day, just by being here!!!

Today CC, BOS-winner Carnoustie´s Double-O-Seven, Carnoustie´s Elektra, Carnoustie´s Thunderball and Carnoustie´s Solitaire have
been x-rayed, and their x-rays were sent to the Finnish Kennel Club as A-hips and 0-elbows!
Carnoustie´s Scaramanga was x-rayed last week, and the pics were sent to the kennel club as A/A-hips and 0/0-elbows, congrats Silja and Saila!

This means that tricolour males Double-O-Seven and Thunderball will be available at stud for suitable girls...

Carnoustie´s  Moonlight Dream is examined in Denmark and has A-hips, congratulations Lone and Toffé !
Toffé was Sefi´s 19th child that was x-rayed,and 18 of them have been HD-free, one with A/D-hips!!  So almost 95 % of her children are healthy!!!  

Maxi´s children Armorica, Ironica, Tyronica, Antarctica, Harmonica, Stuntman and Spokesman all have A-hips and 0-elbows!  
 A fantastic result - congratulations to breeder Päivi Kaski, and to the owners of the youngsters.
It seems like Maxi will be a strong inheriter, that is passing on good health, beautiful bodies, better heads than he has himself,  nice temperaments,
and wonderful merle colours.

Agility and show results
Late CH Winston´s daughter Heidelind´s Hannalara at Carnoustie took her first class win in Agility Maxi I last weekend, congrats Honey and Sven-Erik!
Her sister, C.I.B. Multi Ch Multi Winner Heidelind´s Heidi from Black Sara´s has started her career as a veteran with great success, and is now also EE V CH,
LT V CH and has several BIS-vet placings - way to go Heidi and Maarit!

Winston´s son C.I.B* LT LV CH Way To Win Fantazija approved temperament test +122 points and new FI CH !!
Way To Win´s son , English Way Fantazija also approved test with +125 points, and new FI CH !   Congrats Leena and Rami!!
Way To Win Fantazija has two young FI CH children already,   English Way, and our Rejejs Joie de Vivre For Carnoustie.
I am proud and happy that late Winston´s legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren, with strong temperaments that makes
them manage well in the temperament tests.

Winston had 72 offspring, of which 11 are champions, 5 international champion, and 10 more CC/CACIB winners, on their way to the ch-title.
He has 7 champion-grandchildren.  He has 29 offspring temperament tested, 25 of them approved - I believe this
to be one of the best results in Finland ever.

Late INT CH Corydon Will Carnegie´s son, CH Way To Win Fantazija CACIB, BOB, NEW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION!
Many, many congratulations Leena, Rami and Natalja!!
"Reino" is  Winston´s FIFTH international champion, altogether he produced ELEVEN champions - what a sire !

Reino has also continued in his sire´s footsteps by being a succesful stud dog, his merle son English Way Fantazija was
BOB yesterday and now has 3 x CC, as his daughter Joy at our kennel who also has all CCs.
Also Winston´s greatgrandson Carnoustie´s Beam of Light did well, winning also today the junior class, but today "only" with VG.

I am sure that Winston in doggy-heaven is smiling and sending big kisses to his succesful children,grandchildren and greatgrandchildren...

Carnoustie´s La Dolce Vita BB-3, CC, FI CH !! She finished her champion title by taking 3 x CC, 1 x rCC in 7 shows in 4 weeks time !

After that we actually  were thinking about returning home to Jakobstad, and not continuing to Helsinki for the next days show, as our goal
was to show La Dolce Vita until she was champion. Luckily we anyhow decided to drive all the way down to Helsinki :).

DK export Carnoustie´s Silver Power´s first offspring is born in Denmark at Marselisborg kennel, - an interesting mix of modern and
classic lines.  The puppies looks very nice, and the blue merle colour of them is outstanding - it looks like "Snow" will have influence
in the merle breeding in Denmark! Congrats Marianne and Snow, and  Lene and Ronja.
Also Snow´s sister, at Calina collies will be bred this year, to an outstanding blue merle male, so here´s another chance for more
interesting merle puppies in Denmark.

Thanks to you all for bringing your dogs to the show, and training and showing them so well.

Also OJ´s grandson in England, Corydon Mister Potter was very succesful at the British Collie
Club show in June, winning  1st Puppy Dog, 1st Junior Dog, 1st Maiden Dog, and 1st Novice Dog.

After a break for 3 years, Carnoustie´s Moon Flower returned back to the ring today, and immediately was
BB-3, resCC at Hämeenlinna show. Well done and congratulations Anssi and Mona, we look forward to
Mona´s career in veteran class later this year - we hope that she will stay in this excellent condition, so that
she could get the last CC for her champion title.

OJ´s girlfriend Magicmill´s Irish Sunrise is scanned, and  she has puppies - we keep our fingers crossed for a beautiful
sable litter in the beginning of June!
OJ´s grandson in England, Corydon Mister Potter, has started his puppy career very promising by being  Best Minor Puppy
at an all breeds show, and shortlisted amongst the 5  best in the BIS-puppy finals. Congrats Barbara, John and Miranda!
We wish also his other grandchildren in England, France and Australia good luck with their show careers!

 We have had some problems with our homepage, especially difficulties to update the News-page, so 
to solve the problem, I have removed  all pictures from this page - it will look more boring, but will hopefully
be more easy to update without problems. 

Due to these updating problems, I am aware that some pictures have disappeared from some dogs pages, 
and from the offspring page, and  I will correct that as soon as I have them time to go through the whole page.
